Winterface v1.2 – Video Review
Hello all!
It’s been a while since I’ve added my two cents here, yes I’m still around but just very busy with other projects, but I’ve got a review for, a video review actually of the new Winterface Version 1.2 from Vito Technology.
This is posted over at TiltMobility as well, but it’ll work on the Fuze as well I would think…
So read on:
First is the info:
Winterface
Version 1.2
Mobile shell for your Windows Mobile to look special!
Winterface is the Next Generation Shell for Windows Mobile comprising the options of a launcher, a task manager, and multitude of Today plug-ins. Winterface virtually replaces default interface of touch screen Windows Mobile devices and gives the user unprecedented freedom to easily lay out interface exactly the way they like it.
Price: $19.95
There’s nothing to the installation, you can either get the cab of the exe and go from there.
It looks very similar to the last version of Winterface, with a few changes, so watch the video to learn more, I shot it in 720p so it should look decent. It’s a little over 9 minutes, so I think I covered everything…
I mentioned a couple problems in the video, the main being the bluetooth bug, when the phone locks BT gets cut off, very annoying to have to reconnect my headset every time I want to use it. Once I uninstalled Winterface my Jawbone2 worked like it should, so it’s obviously a problem with the interface…
Second is the ringtone, one of my first rules is don’t mess with my phone, I don’t care who you are, don’t change the way I have things set. Even after I uninstalled it the ringer was still changed, it should have reverted back to my ringtone, I had to go back in and change the ringtone, very annoying.
The other small annoyance is the ‘on’ label on the Time Icon, why is it there? My alarm isn’t on, and it covers up part of the time.
There’s no other real problems, but those two are enough for me not to use Winterface…
I do like the improvements, especially the wrap around screens, that’s very nice for navigation.
The bluetooth bug makes it virtually unusable if you rely on a BT headset as I do, so I can only give this product a 3 out of 5 score.
!!!!
I only used the trial version of Winterface for testing, but Vito gave me a full key, I didn’t use it, so if anyone wants it leave a comment and we’ll randomly pick someone to get the key.. make sure you leave a way to contact you though!

I couldnt help but notice how laggy Winterface was on your Tilt. I just installed it on my Fuze, and its much better. Its extremely fast, and responsive!
