What’s the Meaning of This?

dictionaryI don’t know about you, but I come across a lot of words when I’m reading that I don’t know the  meaning of. But I’m either too lazy to pick up that heavy dictionary in the next room or I don’t have one handy (like on an airplane). So I searched the Web looking for a dictionary that I could install on my Fuze. There are plenty you can buy. And some that are free, but have so few words that they never have the word you look up.

Introducing PocketDictionary. It is based on the Oxford English Dictionary. It has 180,000+ words. And it’s free! Download it here. As the picture indicates, PocketDictionary doesn’t have the most elegant interface, but, hey, it’s a dictionary and it’s free!

Another option is PocketDic by cellosoft. Very simple, very fast, and very free dictionary I’ve used since my Dell Axim days.
They have quite a few dictonarys available plus you can create your own if your so inclined.

This looks great, just what I need! Does it contain a thesaurus also?

Here’s an app with 2 dictionaries and a thesaurus.

I tried to download PocketDictionary and got:

Try this link.

Go to bottom of page. See “CAB download (4.38 MB) or its mirror here” and click on the mirror “here.”

Should lead to a RapidShare download page.

It worked for me.

Well because I’m such a sweetheart here’s a mirror that doesn’t suck:

Doug

Anyone have a mirror for the full install? D:

Drjim, that app with the thesaurus is 185MB, any smaller that you can recommend?

@kraise. Did Doug supply what you need?

@wekebu: Yikes, that’s absurd. I don’t have an alternative. Try doing searches on xda-developers.com and freewareppc.com.

Let us know what you find?

Never figured this app would create such excitement!!
