Tilt 2 For Sale on AT&T’s Website (Personal Side)
As we’ve known, October 18th (you know, today) is the day the Tilt 2 goes on sale. So it’s fitting that AT&T has already turned the switch on for website sales to individual users (and not just Premier accounts). The ‘online only price’ is $300 after rebates – the same as the in store price. You can check it out here.
By the way, they list the colors as 16million – that’s incorrect, but it’s WM so I don’t expect AT&T to get everything right:)

I have the Tilt 2. I can confirm that it does not have a built in 3.5mm headset jack. It comes with that big brick htc adapter.
You can also find the phone on the eXpansys (aka mobileplanet) website unsubsidized/unlocked for $699, although I believe I heard that AT&T will sell theirs without contract for $499. I checked out the phone in the store and am seriously considering it just for the larger screen and keyboard.
Yesterday, here in Washington DC I can’t find a single store with it in stock. Only 1 store even has a single example for display!
If at first…
If you happen to have an expired contract, or are just a good customer, give this a try – I got my Tilt 2 for only $175!
Here’s how. I called AT&T, asked to speak to Customer Retention, FYI my monthly total is about $120 and my contract was up. Got a nice guy called Alex and told him I wnated to get the phone, and since my contract was up I was looking around for the best deal. I mentioned T Mobile and Verizon both have the same phone and I was willing to jump ship for a good price.
At first he was able to get it down to a net after rebates of $250. I winged a bit and suggested he try again as I thought I could do better elsewhere. He went off to talk to someone (a Supervisor I guess) and came back with the following:
$350 – $50rebate, -another $50 rebate, -10% + $224.99 plus a $50 mail in rebate to HTC for a net total of $174.99!
I couldn’t pry the actual rebate codes out of him, but feel free to press for the same deal!

Link? Only found Touch Pro2 with European HSDPA. None with AT&T compatible frequencies.
I just got mine this morning no-commitmnent — it was the ONLY ONE they had at my local store. $499 standard price, but the guy said I still get the $50 MIR (he said “HTC still wants you to have this”), so I guess $450 when all is said and done.
I’m 10 months into my 2-year contract; he could have done an exception and given me a contract renewal, but it would have been $375 after MIR, so for $75 I thought no-commitment was a much better option.
FYI — my local store had three-packs of the screen protector specifically for the Tilt 2 — good for people like me who mess up a few times before getting it on right. This phone is HARD — the screen protector is cut right to the edge, so if you’re off to one side just a little bit it won’t stick on both edges.
Both expansys USA and negrielectronics dot com have the Tilt 2 unlocked — negri is only about $600, $100 cheaper than Expansys. Just be careful — unlocking voids the AT&T warranty, I believe, so ask the seller you choose what THEIR warranty options are.
This site has it for $179.99 new activation. I’m getting mine for $199.99 with an contract upgrade. NO rebates just straight savings. You still get charged the $18 activation on your bill and you have to get a data plan. I already have $50 unlimited data/text plan and the lowest talk plan, so mine payment/charges doesn’t change.
But it wont ship until 10/24. I was gonna call AT&T direct and try customer retention direction, but forget them, I don’t feel like arguing. If anybody sees it cheaper, please post.

The site also lists a 3.5 audio jack. Is that also incorrect?
