Remote Wiping

Karl The other day we noted that the stolen Diamond 2 had a remote wipe performed so all of the customizations and personal data were removed from the phone remotely. In the comments Karl from AskTheAdmin.com linked this article on how to configure an Exchange Server for remote wipe including setting it to remote wipe after a series of failed logins. If you work in a office with a corporate Exchange server you should ask if these features are enabled and if they are not you may want to point your admin to Karl the Admin (or replace them with Karl) :)

If you have any more questions on enabling this feature you shouldn’t ask me – until a server can fit in my pocket I can’t do anything for you:)

luckily, last june-oct we went through an exchange migration…. and i bugged them about exchange activesync…. and we fired it up…. the remote wipe feature is neat… either in outlook web access or exchange server directly, 1 click and the next time the phone has a connection (or if it’s already connected) it instant hard-resets! Works well on both winmo and i-crap-phones…..
