THE WP7 Skin Is Available To Download

The LeSScro WP7 theme (which requires Wisbar Advance Desktop) appears to be the closest skin available to mimic WP7 and even includes the transition screens and appears to run pretty fast. And now it’s available for beta testing for WVGA users who donate. Want to see what it looks like?

And here’s a little more showing how it really runs, including setting the shortcut links as desired.

As you can see, this skin is more than skin deep. The author is in France and last I checked he was sleeping:) But you may want to donate now so you get your download early. The XDA thread is located here and his site is located here. If you try it out share your thoughts. It looks amazing. it still doesn’t give you the integration that WP7 has but a lot of the look and feel is there. And remember to turn off TF3D before running this  – you’ll need the memory:)

HTC Hiring For Various Positions Including Patent Counsel!

I saw this over at Engadget Mobile and thought it was pretty funny. It seems that HTC who one would expect is always looking for good help, is now in more of need of some REALLY good help for various positions including Patent Counsel! With what most likely be a very long and drawn Patent Infringements Lawsuit brought against HTC by  the “Artist” Steve Jobs and Apple, it would seem that this is going to be a highly recruited position!

According to Engadget Mobile the HTC Ad was posted on Feb 10th. Maybe the HTC Crystal Ball gave them some advance notice!

Sprint’s exclusive loyalty program turns one

3.23.09Horizontal_Full-color_on_white OVERLAND PARK, Kan.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–When Sprint (NYSE: S) launched its exclusive rewards program for its most loyal and high-value customers a year ago, the company had no idea how popular the program would be. The exclusive benefits Premier members received have helped to foster loyalty between Sprint and its customers. According to a recent GFK End-User survey, Premier customers, indeed, are far more loyal. So to mark the one-year anniversary, Sprint is announcing enhancements to the program with the goal of further improving the Premier experience.

“In a world where there are companies who have thousands of customers, the customers tend to get overlooked or viewed as a metric based on revenue. This program shows me Sprint sees my loyalty and I am not just a revenue stream.”

Steve Jobs Video On The Rise Of Macintosh: “Good artists copy, Great artists steal”

Life is full of contradictions and Apple, along with CEO Steve Jobs, is no different it would appear. In the lawsuit Apple brought forth yesterday against HTC, Steve Jobs wrote:

"We can sit by and watch competitors steal our patented inventions, or we can do something about it. We’ve decided to do something about it," said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. "We think competition is healthy, but competitors should create their own original technology, not steal ours."

I wonder if Steve remembers back to a 1996 interview where he says that “It comes down to trying to expose yourself to the best things humans have done and try to bring those things in to what you are doing”. Steve goes on to quote Picasso: “Good artists copy, Great artists steal”. In the video below, the look Steve gives the interviewer is priceless before he goes on to say:

“We have always been shameless in stealing great ideas…”

Steve says that Part of what made the Macintosh great is that the people working on it were “Musicians, poets, ARTISTS, zoologists,  historians, who also happened to be the best computer scientists…”

So I think that HTC has an excellent chance of beating this lawsuit brought forth by Apple if they can only prove that their “Computer Scientists” were once “Musicians, poets, ARTISTS, zoologists,  historians”!

Enjoy the Video.

Bake A Pizza…In your Pocket

Bbonzz has just released Pocket Pizza which lets you make a pizza on your phone. It’s just like making a real pizza. First step is spreading some flour, then the dough comes out and you need to stretch it out. Then you can start to add ingredients and you get to choose where they are placed (so you can do mushrooms on one slice only:)). Once you’ve made your pie you need to bake it (and yes, it’s a brick oven with moving flames) and the ingredients will come out of the oven looking baked.  And of course, then it’s time to cut the pie and you can choose the number of slices to cut it.   And of course, with Bbonzz there are great visuals throughout the app. It’s a novelty app but I know some of you probably routinely make your own pies at home and this is a good way to do a dry run or you can also use it to see visualize what you are ordering before you call the pizza store to place your order. The free/light version only lets you add the ingredients to make a margarita pizza. The pro version (available for a small donation) has eighteen additional ingredients. And it’s available in VGA, WVGA, QVGA and WQVGA. The download is available here. Thanks Bbonzz for another satisfying app:)
