plenty of improvements clearly.. noting another right now filling out this form submission with ease.

Starting to dig through opera:config to see what’s doing. Lots of items of interest there, I suggest you check it out, very different. Sad to see hard keyboard-out on landscape not disabling landscape SIP. Also when reading a lot of text like here or a slashdot thread Opera doesn’t nestle itself so rigidly to what it identifies as your vertical grid (meaning now if you scroll a little left and right as you scroll down it is not forgiving as it used to).

Wonder what the smooth scrolling thing (disabled by default) does. Also wonder if they figured how to get the browser to function on turbo mode while still managing to keep you logged in to whatever site. Guess I’ll keep fiddling.

Wow, things have really turned around since a couple of years ago when there weren’t any good choices for browsers for Windows Mobile. I have seven (count ‘em) browsers installed on my Fuze now: PIE, Opera 9.5, Skyfire, Iris, Opera Mini 5 beta, Bolt, and Opera 10 beta. I’ve been mostly using Iris, with an occasional launch of Bolt when I’m in a hurry. So far, after about ten minutes of playing around, I like the new Opera quite well. I’m happy that it’s easy to turn off the “Turbo” mode for security (and they say they won’t use their proxy for https connections, in any event).

I’ll keep using Opera 10 beta for a while to see what I run into, but from what I’ve seen to this point it looks like a keeper.

Maybe this is a coincidence, but it looks like Opera 10 has some major caching issues. I installed it and then went to a few pages and now my phone has no more storage space on it.

Got 100/100 on the acid 3 which was nice to see though.

@drjim: No luck for me. Runs fine from the programs tab in 2.1. But from the internet tab, it still tries to load up 9.7 and then hangs.

I’m liking 10 much better than 9.7 so far.

@dookie: I just installed Opera 10 on my Fuze and it automatically became the default browser from my Sense (new version of TF3D) Internet tab.

How do I make this my default browser? I’m using wm 6.5 w/ TF3D 2.1. The Internet tab is currently setup to use Opera 9.7 (which locks up the phone as soon as it’s started up.

I have the Tilt 2, and Ive been using the Opera Mini 5b since it came out. Other than a problem going from landscape to portrait mode, this browser is better than all others in almost every way. Obviously, there is no flash support, but when Im searching the web on my phone, I need something that looks good, and is quick. This is 10 times faster than Skyfire, or Opera Mobile. Check your speeds @ 3gspeed.info
