Omnia 2 For AT&T – The Plot Thickens
We initially showed a photo taken in an AT&T store of what we believed to be an Omnia 2 with AT&T branding. Now Engadget has revealed pictures of the Omnia 2 with Verizon branding and now that it’s branded it looks a lot more like the AT&T pic we had. Just take a look for yourself with side by side pictures.

Sorry, I’d have to agree with Mr. Andropov: the screen on that AT&T phone looks way too small to be the 3.7″ WVGA wonder on the Omnia 2…
The really important question is, when will AT&T be getting the B7610 Omnia Pro? Spec-wise it beats out the Tilt2 (although it wouldn’t have support from Mobility Digest, xda-dev, etc. which IS a major con…)
Remember the facebook app for the iphone is just a widget, right?
Not saying this is true just wishful thinking. AT&T has been known to change physical specs around for their liking. Plus it is common for advertisers to simulate screen images on their devices. I’ve even seen them have WinMobile OS screens on non-WM phones.
I mean even if this isn’t an Omnia 2, what phone is it? It is on poster boards at AT&T corp stores. The original Omnia is several years old and I doubt AT&T would pick it up this late in the game.
With the iPhone exclusivity ending this year, AT&T needs to really step it up in their device department to be competitive against the other carriers when they lose the iPhone.

By “a lot” you mean the carrier branding at the top and the Samsung branding at the bottom of the screen, right? Otherwise, they don’t look that similar. The biggest difference is the WVGA screen ratio on the real Omnia II vs the VGA/QVGA screen on the AT&T image. The more I look at the AT&T image, the more like a photoshop it looks. It’s running an iPhone version of Facebook and has the HTC task manager icon in the upper right corner.
