Official HTC Fuze ROM Update- Version 5.11.502.2 WWE (Almost?)

when someone installs this…curious if it the performance is as good as the leaked rom?

what im hoping for is battery improvement on this one, and also performance as well, if someone tests this out plz let us know how good the battery perfomance is…ill keep a close eye on this one

And could it be better than Herg’s or NRG’s?

Pass on the 6.1 update, but, if it is as good as the leaked 6.1 on XDA, it’s pretty good. Just install one of the FINE 6.5 roms. Smoother, better, faster.

This is an interesting release time wise. Given WM6.5 is in the wild and the ATT Fortress has been written up. Agree with others, why not just install and rebuild with Herg or NRG 6.5 ROM?

Well Ive tried to download it but it doesnt work with my SN…and my brother tried with his and his doesnt work either. hmmm maybe its just a tease. Has anyone been atleast to download it?

SN not accepted here, it’s almost 1am eastern. May have to wait for start of business day.. I’m not gonna be able to sleep!

it’s yet 22:41 Mountain Time(Arizona) here on 5-27-2009 & the dang thing still won’t let my S/N slide. shucks.

i’m used to Amazon & other sites relying on Eastern Time to determine when the next day begins.

I have been using a very stable RRE 6.5 rom from XDA for about a month now. I would say it crashes less than the stock rom. It has better battery life and performance. It used to be that cooked roms had to be adjusted to get all the ATT connections working, but now chefs are coming up with Fuze additions. I have had to do no adjustments to this rom. XDA is a far better source for the latest roms than ATT can ever hope to be. I have an improved tf3d, faster program load times and far faster file searching.
I fail to see to need to downgrade to 6.1 and get old software and all the ATT roadblocks they add to their roms.

@Robert… what roadblocks does att pit into the phone!? only things i can think of are: internet sharing (fixed via reg tweak), crappy tf3d background (remedied by skins ie fuzeberry or cabs/diff manila’s) and software bloat (nothing obnoxious on the leaked rom)

According to a poster on the ATT forums, he spoke with an HTC rep and was told the link should go live at 12:01 EST.

Link worked for me earlier today, now it’s 404. From what i understand, HTC admitted to one person who emailed them that there was a problem verifying S/N’s, so they said try back tomorrow, who knows when it will be back up

I spoke with a rep there and she told me that the S/N should not have been on the site.
So it looks like they are going to take that off and then put it back up. She said it should be up in a few days and if it is not back up on Monday to call them.

Also, I asked if they will be releasing Window Mobile 6.5 for the AT&T Fuze and she did not know anything about that.

why would you want a 6.1 crippled att rom when there are many 6.5 or 6.1 if you really want it that are so much better?

Everyone keeps mentioning that they are using better roms (6.5 or 6.1) and that att cripples theirs. I’ve tried both cooked and ATT roms and have found flaws with both. Why not tell us what roms you are using instead of just saying “mines better”.

Well I already fixed (on my stock ATT Fuze) most of the improvements HTC is offering thanks to this site and XDA. My bet is this update would create more problems than solutions, at least for me. No thanks.

im using NRG’s 3.0 6.5 Rom and it has increase battery life over stock , faster load on everything (opening the windows folder takes about 2 seconds literally) over stock, better software from the start, less ram usage than the stock, and best part of all …. NO BUGS !!! and if there ever is one nrg immediately evaluates and fixes it . the only real problem with the rom is that htc’s dialer isn’t very good so all you have to do is download a different dialer and there aren’t any other bugs that i get or run into :]

HTC seems to have taken it down. The link to HTC’s page now shows a 404 message. Also, if I search through their phone list to the Touch Pro, it does not list a recent ROM update.

I am using Shep’s 6.5 as well. Love it.

I switch between Herg-A-Fied and NRG’s 3.0. I swap everytime there is a new release. LOL

I’ve tried many cooked roms including the NRG 3.0 (WM6.5) and ATT leaked rom. It is fair to say WM6.5 is generally a better rom over WM6.1 but the reason why I’m looking forward to flashing this new rom from HTC is because I noticed significant reduction in time getting a GPS lock using the ATT leaked rom and I’m hoping this one still has the same improvement. Any other roms I tried takes too long to get a gps lock that it’s practically unusable. I’ve tried other fixes proposed in XDA without success. I’m surprised that no one else is even talking about the gps functionality.

I am looking forward to the new update, I just wish they used a better battery status icon like NRGZ28 has in his rom

What happens to the existing data on the device when you do this update? Is it all erased?

Mike, Indeed it will. Similar to a hard reset.

I just hope that it has an updated radio that fixes my phone and wi-fi signal strength. I get very bad wi-fi signal when someone with a blackberry can have a strong signal. I also seem to have to turn my data connection off and back on again to be able to access the internet if i havent in a few hours. Both Opera and IE will tell me that the connection is forbidden. Of course if I use Skyfire, it will work fine.

Me as well. My 8525 was a great phone, but the phone on the fuze is a step backward in signal quality.

I’m just hoping that there’s an updated radio. Pretty much ALL of those things have been addressed in custom ROMs since before we even got our devices in the states.

I have this upgrade, works like a champ, e-mail me and i’ll send it to you!

GUYS! The official FUZE rom update is back up on the site!!

(And it works this time, i have the official rom, installing it when i get off work)

I tried the link and called US HTC support also.

Link gave 404 and support said it’s not available to download right now.

Any idea which link you downloaded it from? Can you try hitting from your PC again (ctrl+F5 do refresh) to see if it is still working?

What ever happened to this ROM update? The link still appears to be broken. I enter valid SN etc. and then click on download; that takes me to another page which wants me to select product again and guess what? The Fuze is missing.
what gives? Did AT&T put the quaweetus on the ROM update or something? Or has HTC suddenly become inept or deceptive?

Please help. My fuze needs re-fuzing with a ROM update. My current rom is dated clear back to 10/2008.
