Kinoma Play Skinned at Last!
For some of us that enjoy tweaking and skinning everything that’s on our devices and was a little bored with the default Kinoma Play skins can now rejoice thanks to l3it3r of Mobility Digest and XDA Developers.
l3it3r has found the method needed to add new skins and is continuing down the path of a complete reskin. l3it3r will be creating a “how to” guide over the next couple of days after he experiments some more.
Now that the path to skinning Kinoma Play has been set, let the fun begin! Here are a few more screens from l3it3r latest work.
To see more of l3it3r work, check out his thread HERE and be sure to thank him for his awesome work. And of course we all know that MobileMatt is a big fan of Kinoma Play and skinning. Check out his skins HERE
Here are a couple screens of the MobileMatt skin;

Great work guys! Must I now reload Kinoma?
Too many recent updates lately for me to fully dismiss this player, especially since i paid for software I never use.
(not like we’ve never done that before in the world of WinMo
)
and now this? /me reloads Kinoma for further tweaking
I couldn’t get rid of Kinoma now that it’s so powerful, but this just makes it sooooo much better
If you follow the installation EXACTLY, you shouldn’t have any issues.
I’m uploading the white theme to my XDA-Developers thread in the second post in a minute or two. It will include the three themes I’ve done so far – Black and White, Terminal, and now White.
Yep. The entire app has been rewritten to act similar to the homescreen on an iphone. You can add any song, playlist or other link to the homescreen, share between twitter, facebook, picasa, flickr and more and it even has a built in app store!
I recommend you just buy it. It’s WAY too useful not to anymore
Great minds and great software = endless possibility’s… I also recommend you purchase Kinoma Play and have fun with it.
Motherhood strikes as a grammar-nazi:
A board is what I cover my windows with when the hurricanes are a-comming.
Bored is what my son is right now that mom and dad are both playing on computers and not paying attention to him.
@ bitbucket David K. to the rescue… My sons not BORED while his parents are playing on their computers, as he’s playing the XBOX360.
Okie Dokie.. I’ve figured out the basics for moving the elements around and I know the file structure in and out. ALSO… did you know that Kinoma Play has ‘cover flow’?
Totally off topic, but whenever I see Tiesto, I think of this clip.

NSFW captioning…
Hmm…the install from his XDA page kept Kinoma from even running until I rebooted the phone – then it just loaded up the original skin. I guess I’ll wait a bit and try again in a few days.
Make sure that you ONLY use winrar, do not extract the .zip and that you’re doing the instructions to the ‘t’.
I’ve had issues with it when I goof up and do it in the wrong order, but as long as you do the mods in the right way, it works everytime.
I should mention that these mods are ONLY being done on the English language theme… I apologize if you’re using it in another language, but I didn’t have time to test all that
Oh, kenny, when you restarted the phone, did you try and change the theme? On the home screen, click menu, player (rightmost tab) and then skin…
Ahh… your last post helped me. I thought it was going to change it automagically. Thanks! Looks sweet. Was the matrix one yours, too?
Yeah, the B&W, Matrix and White ones are the three that I’ve released so far. I’ve made a few adjustments along the way, and my next release will be VERY different and will include many modifications to the layouts and other added features.
Iv’e just uploaded a preview of the upcoming Kinoma Play FuzeBerry Edition; http://www.mobilitydigest.com/forums/showpost.php?p=12184&postcount=2

Woot! This is proving to be very fun, and yet not terribly difficult either. As noted, I’m currently working on a complete re-skin and documenting what I can along the way. Doing this has also revealed some interesting things about Kinoma and its future. I’m also further convinced that Kinoma is one of the best Windows Mobile applications available.
I have tested all of my skins on my HTC Fuze running NATF’s WinMob 6.1 ROM V4.7S on the latest update of Kinoma Play. I have not tested these skins on Freeplay.
