Herm’s Software Brings Us: Egg Timer

Herm’s been a busy man. His latest free release is Egg Timer. A simple to use, finger friendly, egg timer for Windows Mobile. It serves the obvious purpose of acting like a countdown clock which can come in handy for all sorts of things. Personally, I use my Fuze as an alarm clock and half the time I turn off the alarm and then decide I want another ten minutes and then I have to make a new alarm by adding ten minutes to the current time. There’s no need for that now. Just flick the screen to set the alarm for 10 minutes and call it a day. Here’s a video of it in action:

The application does stop if the backlight is turned off but it’s set to match your existing dim settings (so don’t hit the power key and it will turn off the backlight and remain active – if you hit the power key it will suspend the app). You can even control if you hear it tick down. Nice app, nice features, easy to use. It supports VGA, QVGQ, WQVGA, WVGA so it should work for most touch screen phones out there – the Tilt, Fuze, Touch Pro, Diamond, Omnia, Touch HD, Touch Pro 2…you get the picture:)

Check it out at Herm’s site along with his other apps and buy him a beer if you appreciate his work.

David,

Thank you for the info.

“I use my Fuze as an alarm clock and half the time I turn off the alarm and then decide I want another ten minutes and then I have to make a new alarm by adding ten minutes to the current time”.

Then I strongly recommand you to try Pocket Alarm v2.18 from Wizcode. Once you tried it, you will adore this soft. When the alarm rings, there’s a screen allowing you to add 10 more minutes (or 5, 15 minutes, half an hour if you prefere, etc…) on the main screen.

Thanks Peter- I’ll look into it. The stock MS window lets you add time also but in the morning I tend to think I’m waking up then I second guess myself:)

[...] in handy during cooking and other instances where time means everything. Thanks to our friends at FuzeMobility for digging this one [...]

Actually, I can’t have this software work. It takes almost 40 seconds to load. Also, it does not support WVGA screens unfortunately.
