hey, i unzipped the file, its on my phone but when i go in and push haret it wants me to liusten for a connection? and it wont wark.

that new link worked! the eclair build that is. except when i was trying to set it up, i unchecked wi-fi cuz i didn’t want it on, and it froze on me. had to pull the battery. reloading it now…

parenthetically there have since been newer and presumably better releases including a 2.0.1 but I don’t have the fuze anymore to tinker with it to get data working out of the box to try to make this easier for others though it may already be working, I see it has the AT&T access point settings in it. If you’re up for it, why not give yourself a clean slate, delete any directories on your chip that might have been created (sort by dates modified) when you tried to boot the other Android or strange files, download and unzip this – http://blownfuze.org/files/AndroidEclair_12-24-09.zip – drag and drop to the chip’s root folder and see what happens. Same haret.exe procedure to boot.

actually i do, but it’s in my nokia n85 and i have a lot of files on it… don’t really wanna mess with that.

it shows up so i don’t believe they’re hidden, and it shows under permissions everything is ok, so i don’t know what the deal is.

yes i did a hard spl a while back when i got my first cooked ROMs.

Any chance you have a spare microsd lying around?

Just for the hell of it (this probably won’t help), on your computer right click the rootfs file, properties, general tab and make sure it’s not hidden or read-only. Then do the same with total commander on the phone.

Another longshot (I can’t remember reading if this makes a difference or not), but did you hardspl the phone?

yep, linux began to load, with the black background and tiny tiny white text. just like mark a above me said he got this message after the white text would load up the screen:

“Failed to find rootfs.img on SD card. You need to unzip a rootfs zip file to the root of your SD card. /bin/sh: can’t access tty; job control turned off”

so i just had to do a soft reset back into WM.

Just to double check, you copied the files to the root directory of the chip, then you went into file explorer on the phone and hit haret.exe then hit the button, right? And then what happened?
