Marketplace WP7 In Action
Microsoft has released this short video to show what Marketplace will look like on WP7. It’s a pretty big change compared to the current version.
Windows Phone 7 Video Walkthrough
I, like a lot of you are still taking in all that the Windows Phone 7 has to offer. Like all new things, it will take me some time to get used to it as I am a huge creature of habit. In any case, the video that we got for you today comes by [...]
THE WP7 Skin Is Available To Download
The LeSScro WP7 theme (which requires Wisbar Advance Desktop) appears to be the closest skin available to mimic WP7 and even includes the transition screens and appears to run pretty fast. And now it’s available for beta testing for WVGA users who donate. Want to see what it looks like?
And here’s a little more showing [...]
WP7 Startup Animation
XDA member ElCondor has a few nice startup animations (including the HTC Brilliant one) but I just installed the Windows Phone 7 Series one myself. It’s a simple cab install, reset and it’s there. Looks great.
It’s available for WVGA and VGA devices.
The download is located here on XDA.
Microsoft Says No-Ah-Ah To HTC HD2 WinMo 7 Upgrade
I know there are a lot of HTC HD2 Owners cursing Microsoft after a statement made by Natasha Kwan, who is the General Manager for Microsoft’s Mobile Communications Business in the Asia-Pacific region, that said that the HD2: “doesn’t qualify because it doesn’t have the three buttons”.
Even the though the mouth watering HTC [...]
LG Shows Off Its WP7 Slider
Engadget got a bit of a surprise when they were shown a prototype LG slider with a full QWERTY keyboard. This is the first branded device the world has seen for WP7. The total package size is noted to be a hair thicker than an iPhone. obviously this is pre-production but it was rocking [...]
MSFT Tweet: Existing Devices May Be Upgradable to WP7 After All.
In spite of what one of their suits said in a CNET interview, you just may be able, maybe, to upgrade to WM7 after all without having to buy a new device according to this tweet by WindowsphoneUK who, noting that they’re a good ways away from releasing anything to manufacturers, said that it’s “really [...]
WP7 Meet Xbox 360
We were told that there would be Xbox Live integration in WP7 but the exact level of integration has been a bit of a mystery. In a recent conference call Andy Less stated the following:
We are very excited about the way in which the platform works across screens, so we have commonality of platform [...]
Going to MIX10? Want to party?
The Auri Group is getting ready for MIX10 and hopefully come back with a lot more details on WP7 and its development. In order to get the most out of it, they’re trying to put together an informal party.
Wouldn’t it be great to have a Windows Phone Developer Party at MIX? Not “official” by [...]
WP7 Coming in October?
on Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 site states that the release date of WP7 is “Holiday 2010.” I just want to clarify what that likely means. When Windows 7 (desktop) was pre-announced they had a goal of 2009 Holiday. The actual public release occurred on October 22, 2009. Presumably, when MS uses the phrase ‘holiday’ this [...]
