Can’t connect to Windows Marketplace?

When trying to play with the Mobile Marketplace today I kept getting an error and couldn’t figure out why but after poking around a little bit I found that I wasn’t the only one! And I’ve got a fix for you! Well, not me, but someone does! and that someone is Paul Smith! But I’m gonna share it!

One of the checks the Marketplace application seems to make us having a look at your version information. A lot of custom ROMs put thier own string in, which seems to be upsetting it. To check, open up your favourite registry editor and make your way to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Versions and change Aku to .5.3.00

And then soft reset and give it a go.

And you know what? it works perfectly! No more errors on loading up the marketplace anymore!

i get that error only when im not already connected. marketplace doesnt like to wait for cellular data to connect. then i hit retry. otherwise its always worked. but ill keep this in mind in case i change builds. my aku entry says .5.3.0 what did yours say before you changed it?

Where can I download marketplace on my fuze? I’ve gone to the site but do not see an application download. I’m searching XDA, too but no good results.

by the way, the tweak doesn’t work for me but it’s been reported to work for a lot of people. The cab works (I can confirm he registry change is made) but with it applied I still can’t connect…

I spoke to soon. I’ve found the cab for marketplace and all of the cabs that will fix the registry and give you the option to save to sd card or device.

nrgz? thats not an aku version. :P

does no one know how to edit registrys anymore? just download and install totalcommander, go to plugins/registry. thats not hard.

lol for future reference , market place isn’t all that good yet , there are about 10 free apps that are almost useful .
all in all i downloaded 1 app from it , that i could of gotten from xda or here , its the channer.
Also , there anent that many apps on the thing in the first place , pac man costs 7 dollars !!!!!!!

It didn’t work for me at first but i found ”Marketplace Reg Fix” and it make the app work perfectly. just look for this reg fix on google.
