AT&T’s Touch Pro II To Be Named Fortress

This is what we’ve been waiting for! The AT&T leak on what they will call their HTC Touch Pro II. And without further ado, meet the Fortress. I bet you are saying the same thing I am right? There isn’t any way this is AT&T’s version of the TP2! Well I’m thinking the whole thing is fishy too. So check out the leaked Internal document and then we’ll address all that is wrong:

We all know that any AT&T device is not going to come with a front facing camera, the keyboard doesn’t even come close, the launch date is tomorrow which would make this the most guarded launch ever by AT&T, and there is no way that WinMo 7 would hit in September when WinMo 6.5 has not been released yet…. er……officially I mean!

So what does this all mean? Well, it means we may know the name, but not a whole lot else. We already knew that AT&T would release a TP2 version, so the wait will continue. Drop a comment on what you think and if the name “Fortress” will hold up.

Jump after the break for some more pictures and the AT&T Warhawk (Diamond II) that is also set to be released this summer!

well lets see if i bring a warhawk (hammer) to battle at the fortress …….. will i be able to break the fortress door with the warhawk (hammer).

lmao rotfl hard.

yes it took me five minutes to think this up.

please correct me if i am wrong but i see only four rows of keys and a number keybad on the right side that resembles att number keypad from the past devices.

Launch with WM6.1.6?

I’m calling this as a photoshopped pic FAKE!

This probably isn’t the final product, first off…it’s a QWERTZ and not a QWERTY, I guess the QWERTZ are advertisement models of some sort? There is no ATT Branding on the phone, No Windows Logo Key and no ATT Key. The keyboard will more than likely change to keep those keys but I doubt this model shown is the final product. The whole ad is out of date….it was a rough draft perhaps?

The DiamondII page lists the camera as only a 3.2MP… I thought the DiamondII was coming with a 5MP Camera?

Just about everything with these photos are wrong… perhaps even the name isnt correct.

These are very aggressive names for this new American era of “Hope.”

The keyboard shown is most likely German. They swap the Y and Z keys and have better access to accent characters. Therefore, the phone shown is not a US release.

I just hope the stay with the number layout and give us the blue keyboard backlighting. I wouldn’t mind seeing a blue theme either in place of the silver/gray theme that came on the Fuze. But then, we all know we will all have some “FortressrBerry” Themes to count on from our own Mobile Matt! LOL

Verizon should call their TPII ‘The Brick.’

If the TPII came with a 5MP cam….

the keyboard should have staggered keys. i vote not real.

1) why cant they just call it the Touch Pro 2? WHO CARES if it is called something different just so AT&T can be different.

2) I am still happy with my current FUZE. It literally does everything I need it to do and more, so I am not sure if I am going to get this new version anyway.

But the multiple names is maddening to me.

The things that might push me over the edge to get one over my current Fuze is an led light (for camera/htorch) and a better sliding mechanism. The sliding on my Fuze is really loose and it’s starting to annoy the crap outta me.

I have been a winmo user from the very beginning and have had the latest/greatest pda/phone ever since. Started with the Audivox Thera on Verizon 8 or so years ago and have upgraded at every opportunity and currently have the fuze. I fell for the iPhone hype last year and put it on ebay the day the Fuze was launched and in my hands. Don’t get me wrong, what the iPhone did, it did very well however I am a business user and need a unit for business purposes first and “entertainment” purposes second. That was the reason I ditched the iPhone. I will be in line however when the TP2/Fortress is launched. I really miss the large screen of the iPhone (and my old HTC Blue Angel from days gone by.) With my failing eyes, (I will be 44 next month) and my huge fingers, the large screen will go a long way to make the device more usable. I love my Fuze with my bootleg wm6.5 (Thanks DaG) and am really looking forward to the TP2 / Fortress on ATT

I’m looking forward to something more official and concrete. The day this is available I will be upgrading.
