I've installed the ROM and for what it fixed (GPS not working)I inherited 2 new problems; SMS doesn't advance to the newest message and I have to redundantly press newer messages to advance to newest message and the slide to answer is sketchy. Sometime the slide bar doesn't appear and i just have to motion to answer. Needless to say I'm very happy I see a link for the original OS.

Noob question-

Is there any way to back up the existing ROM on my phone? Like an entire operating backup- beyond that of just save files/contacts?

I hate to ask such a question, but i'm surely not the only person to ever wonder this possibility.

nathan- go to your sound settings/notifications and make sure that it is set to make noise when you get a new SMS.
As for syncing, I am using it now with an exchange server and imap (I have two accounts) and it's working the same for me as the last ROM. I actually find that the radio is a lot better and I have better coverage with this one (so I have better signals in most cases) and the GPS finally works. This is location specific so if you have a problem with connectivity that is new it could be related to the radio.
This is the Opera I am using: http://www.fuzemobility.com/the-latest-and-greatest-cabs-are-here/
In fairness I don't love Opera (any build). I prefer Iris for mobile sites and SkyFire for heavy sites. opera is in between the two which sounds like a good compromise but always leaves me wanting more:)

Thank you david.

The sms issue is that it doesn't alert me to a new one either through a "ring" or a tag on the TF3D area. My mail has not sync'd since I flashed it, which to be fair could be network problems, but it wreaked havoc on my work day.

Opera 9.5 seems to be less responsive, and live.com tell's me I don't have Java, even though it is enabled on the opera list. Is there a specific version of Opera you recommend?

Nathan- here's the stock ROM: http://blownfuze.org/files/RUU_Raphael_Cingular_US_.exe.php
Not sure what issues you have. Regarding mail and SMS I haven't noticed any difference at all. Opera has a million versions (our forums are filled with versions) and if you don't like a version you can just install a new one to your liking. It's not ROM dependant...

Any chance on going back to stock? The new is faster and more smooth but sms, email and opera 9.5 all seem to suck something fierce. I guess it serves me right for doing something advanced, when I ain't.

Any suggestions on how to get my old fuze back?

When upgrading to this leaked ROM, what will be the effect on the AT&T bloatware?

Edit: "2. when I file explore and select custom ringtone manually to set it as default ringtone, it shows up in ringtones settings as “Ring-WindowsMobile” instead of what i had originally named for it."

it does display as the intended file name (not as "Ring-WindowsMobile") but the actual file does not show up in the ringtones drop-down menu. also, sorry in advance for posting on what is a rather trivial thing.

thanks for the link David - still unsuccessful though. I tried the provided suggestions one at a time of course (1. putting custom ringtones into Windows "Rings" folder 2. changing files from "archive" to "read-only" and "system" 3. putting custom rings into main directory of storage card 4. altering registry->HKCU->ControlPanel->SoundCategories->Ring->Directory to have "\Storage Card\" instead of "\Windows") but none of them seemed to work. The odd thing is that the only custom ringtones which DO show up in my ringtones settings are 1. two duplicates of ringtones which I deleted manually but somehow they remain in the system 2. when I file explore and select custom ringtone manually to set it as default ringtone, it shows up in ringtones settings as "Ring-WindowsMobile" instead of what i had originally named for it. Sorry, I hope at least some of that made sense but basically my attempts have been futile.
