AT&T Fuze Test ROM Leaked

ROM Cooked ROM’s are great but official ROM’s are nice since they’re official and all. This new leaked AT&T ROM has a new radio and new version of Windows 6.1 included in it as well as updates to some applications (notably though, TF3D does not appear to be updated and the same manila file is being used). Here are the stats directly from incognitho from XDA:

GSM Radio: 1.12.25.19
Protocol version: 52.60.25.33H
CE version: 5.08.502.1
OS build: Windows Mobile 6.1 AKU 1.4.6 Build 20771
Issues Fixed:

i have installed this on my fuze and everything is zooooooooming along.

i am porting just the slide to answer that att has put in this rom.

i can also say this rom has the radio installed so no more having to install a seperate cab.

look for my slide to answer port soon here and on xda-developers.

Man – I’m excited already…The ROM is nice but a new slide to answer is a great quick fix for people like me that refuse to hard reset:)
By the way, i noticed what you wrote at XDA- PTT is remappable out of the box – that’s a nice change. Reminds me of the Tilt – it took the 6.1ROM to get that.

So this came from… where? Is it out on HTC’s website yet, or will it be? How was this unofficially-official ROM obtained?

Also Herg, didnt you already port the S2A before? I could have sworn thats what I installed about a month ago…

Adam – this is a new version of slide2answer. Yes – Herg did it last time and it looks like he’ll do it again:)
This is usually a leaked copy of a beta or final version that’s unreleased. If you saw, about a week ago HTC released an official update to the Touch Pro (unlocked – not carrier branded) so this may be AT&T’s go with the updates and a few more carrier specific updates as well. We typically see a leaked ROM before a release is made public but the guys at XDA claim this is an official AT&T ROM and not a cooked ROM and it appears to be so based on the fact that it contains apps that are not on XDA at this time.

Yeah, thats usually the case. I want the new improvements, but I have my Fuze tweaked just the way I like it.

Im curious that since the manilia is not updated, I wonder if the speed has been enhanced at all.

Also, good on AT&T for releasing a ROM update just only 4 months after its initial release.

believe it or not by leaking the test rom….this is how at&t improves the over all rom. i have an inside source that tells me this info.

An inside source? I thought you worked for AT&T?

Oh, was I not supposed to say that? :)

i do but nothing to do with build roms for devices. i would love to do that type of stuff. but i am just a csr in corp store.

by the way

i have found the following in this rom

it has the fm radio player under at&t music

it has the slide to answer canvas

so far microsoft voice command works perfectly….no issues yet

it has opera 9.5 build 15445 (not new, this came in the iolite rom)

video share actually works (yes i use video share)

you can resign ptt button to something else

touch flo 3d is version 1.2.35348.2_1813.6

music sync under at&t music

custom ringtones do not work!

Sounds like AT&T got the message on FM Radio, Slide to Answer… Nice! question is – does it perform that much better than stock ROM, that we just have to pick it up and reinstall everything once again.
Did anyone notice major improvement in Radio – 3G and/or Wi-Fi? TF3D performance? Thanks!

where can I get the current att version?

this test rom is off the chain. works alot better than stock rom that came with the fuze on openning day

any improvement in battery life?

Is this update just an ATT version of the HTC Touch Pro (Europe) update or does it contain fixes that are unique only to ATT’s rom

does anyone know the where I can get the link from att for the fuze?

that link is no longer available. when I used my blackberry they had a support site for it: att.com/bbdownloads

BigCheeze – this is a carrier specific ROM. The European ROM also got a recent upgrade I posted about a week or two ago but this thread is an AT&T specific ROM.

this rom is speedy fast!

Can anyone who loaded this tell me what changed to the SMS sceen? The change log states it was altered. Thanks

damn i am so good. on other websites they dare not to speak the name of the hacker/developer that can’t even be metioned.

damn i am good, it hurts. this is how we roll here on fuzemobility.com.

Is there any way to just get the slide to answer option to load that on my Fuze?

Does this ROM improve the GPS issues?

So confused. is this an “OEM” AT&T ROM officially for the company? Will this HARD reset my device when installed? I guess an backup and reinstall ALL will be called for…

I want to use a reg. ROM and I am trying to avoid cooked this time around (as awesome as they are – one burned me and bricked my 8525)

TIA!

this rom prevents subsequent flashing with a Cooked ROM…i’m frustrated

themrpark – all stock ROM’s prevent flashing – you need to unlock. Read this: http://www.mobilitydigest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1052

So what features in this rom are going into the EnergyRom? I hope the new radio…

Any one know how to get rid of the slide to answer and put it back the way it was? I never had an issue with it the other way.

Thanks,

Mike

Hate to be that guy, but can anyone give a step by step instructions on where to get and how to install it? will i need to uninstall the version that came with the Fuze?

Mike – it will overwrite everything. All you do is download it, connect your Fuze to your PC and run the file from your PC and wait about 10 minutes and you have a new phone. You can backup contacts using Sprite Backup which is on the phone already.

Any word on when the official one will be released?
Thanks!

Not that we are aware of but this ROM functions like a final release. The ROMs for the unlocked phone have been out for a while but like the Tilt AT&T is taking its time:)

If you want to back up your phone. Use dashwire. its free and backs everything up just like mobileme for the iphone.

http://www.dashwire.com

Can you backup your current system and restore with the new ROM? I did not think that would work? If it does then I would try this.

Thx

Anyone heard of when the official update is coming out?

agree with above poster – custom ringtones do not work (i.e. can still create them with mp3 trimmer but they do not show up when selecting a ringtone). any ideas on how to work around this?

thanks for the link David – still unsuccessful though. I tried the provided suggestions one at a time of course (1. putting custom ringtones into Windows “Rings” folder 2. changing files from “archive” to “read-only” and “system” 3. putting custom rings into main directory of storage card 4. altering registry->HKCU->ControlPanel->SoundCategories->Ring->Directory to have “\Storage Card\” instead of “\Windows”) but none of them seemed to work. The odd thing is that the only custom ringtones which DO show up in my ringtones settings are 1. two duplicates of ringtones which I deleted manually but somehow they remain in the system 2. when I file explore and select custom ringtone manually to set it as default ringtone, it shows up in ringtones settings as “Ring-WindowsMobile” instead of what i had originally named for it. Sorry, I hope at least some of that made sense but basically my attempts have been futile.

Edit: “2. when I file explore and select custom ringtone manually to set it as default ringtone, it shows up in ringtones settings as “Ring-WindowsMobile” instead of what i had originally named for it.”

it does display as the intended file name (not as “Ring-WindowsMobile”) but the actual file does not show up in the ringtones drop-down menu. also, sorry in advance for posting on what is a rather trivial thing.

When upgrading to this leaked ROM, what will be the effect on the AT&T bloatware?

Any chance on going back to stock? The new is faster and more smooth but sms, email and opera 9.5 all seem to suck something fierce. I guess it serves me right for doing something advanced, when I ain’t.

Any suggestions on how to get my old fuze back?

Nathan- here’s the stock ROM: http://blownfuze.org/files/RUU_Raphael_Cingular_US_.exe.php
Not sure what issues you have. Regarding mail and SMS I haven’t noticed any difference at all. Opera has a million versions (our forums are filled with versions) and if you don’t like a version you can just install a new one to your liking. It’s not ROM dependant…

Thank you david.

The sms issue is that it doesn’t alert me to a new one either through a “ring” or a tag on the TF3D area. My mail has not sync’d since I flashed it, which to be fair could be network problems, but it wreaked havoc on my work day.

Opera 9.5 seems to be less responsive, and live.com tell’s me I don’t have Java, even though it is enabled on the opera list. Is there a specific version of Opera you recommend?

nathan- go to your sound settings/notifications and make sure that it is set to make noise when you get a new SMS.
As for syncing, I am using it now with an exchange server and imap (I have two accounts) and it’s working the same for me as the last ROM. I actually find that the radio is a lot better and I have better coverage with this one (so I have better signals in most cases) and the GPS finally works. This is location specific so if you have a problem with connectivity that is new it could be related to the radio.
This is the Opera I am using: http://www.fuzemobility.com/the-latest-and-greatest-cabs-are-here/
In fairness I don’t love Opera (any build). I prefer Iris for mobile sites and SkyFire for heavy sites. opera is in between the two which sounds like a good compromise but always leaves me wanting more:)

Noob question-

Is there any way to back up the existing ROM on my phone? Like an entire operating backup- beyond that of just save files/contacts?

I hate to ask such a question, but i’m surely not the only person to ever wonder this possibility.

I’ve installed the ROM and for what it fixed (GPS not working)I inherited 2 new problems; SMS doesn’t advance to the newest message and I have to redundantly press newer messages to advance to newest message and the slide to answer is sketchy. Sometime the slide bar doesn’t appear and i just have to motion to answer. Needless to say I’m very happy I see a link for the original OS.
