Advanced Caller ID – Know More About Who Calls You

Advanced Caller ID This neat little application called Advanced Network Caller ID is from Netlon of XDA. After you are done with a call (not during the call) this application jumps online and provides you with more information about the caller (if available) including:

- The full name of caller
- Address of caller with a map link
- The number of FTC and caller complaints (to tell if it’s a spam call)
- Telco name and location (can tell what carrier the call is from)
- Relatives of caller (with age!)
- Criminal History

It autostarts when you restart your phone. The configuration settings are located in program files\netcallerid\ under a configuration application that launches as well so you can set it to work for SMS as well. It also saves a call log that contains the search results in html.

It can be downloaded from here and should work for the Touch Pro/Fuze/Diamond and I presume the Touch HD as well but that’s not tested (nor are other resolution devices but if anyone tries it on other devices please share your results). This is an alpha release and not a final release but if you’re eager go for it and share your findings:) I tested it out and I like it. It crashed on the initial installation but worked fine after the initial installation (I have had crash dialogues but the app still ran fine). Thanks again to Netlon.

I understand that it could be useful but how often would you need to know to that extent who is calling you?

Well, when some rude person calls you at 11:00pm and just hangs up when you answer. It’s sometimes nice to know who you are dealing with. Some lady keeps mis-dialing and calls my phone at night. My wife teases saying it’s my girlfriend. Sure would like to know who it is so I can show my wife. :)

The info is pretty neat…even on friends it tells you their age and relatives sometimes….

what about if you don’t want to know the information of the person your talking to? would still show the info? can you just choose the number you want to see?

how much of a battery drain is this program on the fuze. i think it would drain a ton since it is going online to perform these functions….

TV – it sohuld only be going online after a call and it take a few seconds to get results…it’s not keeping a port open to the web 24/7…

this is scary stuff..big brother is watching

Advanced Caller ID vs SpoofCard…who wins?

this app seems to run on net 2.0, im using a custom rom that uses net 3.5. How do i get this app to work properly on my fuze?

andrwe- it runs with net 3.5…the error message is bogus. just soft reset and it will be there

when i get done with a call and i push end, the info is already on screen! wow, fast! not even on 3g just edge network. not all info is right but cool still.

Hey, thanks for the reply…i tried soft resetting, but the app still gives me that error message…any other work arounds?

Thanks!!! Nothing more annoying than someone calling and asking “who’s this” and when you tell them you called me and ask them who they are…..they hang up. So annoying!!

I am using HTC p4600/AT$T Fuze and I am not able to access the configure menu. Program works nicelty, not all the information is correct, but my boss about screamed when I was able to tell him the age of his sisters and his parents. :) I am wondering why I cannot use the cofig menus…any suggestions as to why this is happening? I am using .net 3.5 and mobile 6.1. pretty much a stock phone with the framework upgrade in place so I can use the newer apps available. Lemmie kno, pleases and thank yous.

Scary, but neat. Who knew the phone could do such things!
