A Few More Money Shots of The Tilt 2
Doug isn’t the only one with a shiny new toy that came in the mail. Chris got his too – he’s too busy playing with it to post his own pics though so I’m helping out:)
We have lots more to come but here’s a few money shots for now. Oh and don’t ask him about where he got all the money from…Herg asked and hasn’t been heard from since…

Good thing my iPhone has agps that actually works
lol
if not than I would have never figured out where chris dumped me
lol
i wont upgrade. i dont have the money. otherwise i probably would. ill accept it if anyone buys one for me.
i wish there was an hd2 with a slide out keyboard that worked on att. i know that would be really expensive but i suppose i could sell a kidney or something. like a touch pro 3. they could call it the “Fuze II”! just to be att about it.
So I have the TP, can you tell the screen is wider with the Tilt2? I was hoping for a wider screen to fit more information in portrait mode. Like fitting more data per line in PI’s calender mode without going to landscape, which would be hella bigger on the Tilt2.
The screens are very different. I just got around to getting everything setup on the Fuze for my wife after a hard reset, maybe I’ll be able to pry it away from her long enough to get some good ‘one to one’ screen shots showing just how much of a difference it makes. The Tilt 2 screen is almost as wide as the Fuze screen is long!!!
Could u verify if I can have a working weather widget on the home screen? I heard it’s a 6.5 thing but with all the pics I’ve seen I have not seen the widget. Can’t wait to get my tilt 2!!!
why do the cooked 6.5 ROMS on the Fuze have windows start on the bottom when the official 6.5 ROM has it up top?
@surly – the cooked ROMs are technically 6.5.1 and not 6.5.0 and that is an experimental feature in testing still (although it seems like it’s here to stay).
Thanks for all the great info about the Tilt 2. I was hoping that someone could answer some questions:
1. Is the camera any different? Although the Fuze has white balancing options, they weren’t always accurate and would be either far too warm or too cold. Is it any faster at captures? I’ve already set the Fuze to low brightness and other applied suggestions from fuzemobility. I can’t believe the Diamond 2 got the 5mp upgrade…
2. Is the text messaging program updated or the standard WM6.1 plain text over a white background. I liked the aesthetics of the TF3D2.1 texting app (with the “buddy icons”), though it was super slow and had that stupid function of quitting when you switched to landscape and hit the wrong key, which rendered it unusable.
Thanks!!!
returned from the local fair tonight to find my tilt 2 on the porch. Seriously this feels smaller thinner and more sold that the fuze. it also is much quicker……i am very vey happy!
@Romualdo aquino – yes, I believe so. I use SPB MS 3.5 though, so I cant get you a pic of it.
@Ivan Yes I do, and I absolutely love it. My PSP 1001 was a horrible abortion of a ‘portable’ gaming system, the PSP Go is perfect.
@nick
1. the camera has ISO options as well as ‘widescreen’ options. It’s very quick and seems to get some decent captures. I’ll take some comparison shots from the Fuze to the Tilt 2 in a few minutes.
2. I can’t recall if the TF3D texting app is nicer since I don’t use TF3D. The standard texting/email app is just the same save for some minor improvements on contact handling and of course the nicer finger friendly menus.
@DavidK NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I hate buttons on the bottom like that! i flashed to a cooked 6.5 ROM and had to flash back to 6.1 because I couldnt stand it.
If someone managed to get hardspl fired up I’d love to know how. Lots of AT&T folk having problems on the xda forum, some with some random luck, but no movement on the first posts of threads. Any of you get it working? Yes I know the basics including the cab and trying the manual exe on the phone… argh.
I have my Tilt 2 flashed and SIM and Security Unlocked.
I went to the XDA Rhodium ROM forum and clicked on OliNex’s sticky thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550131
I PM’d olinex with my IMEI and got the SIM/Security unlocker. (The built in, packaged HardSPL didn’t work, so I went with the standalone one from the thread above)
Then I simply went to town flashing the phone. I’ve tried out 3 ROMs so far. NONE of them use the PTT button yet :-/
I’m currently using EnergyROM ‘photon’ and it’s FAST. Very fast. Stupid fast. I use SPB Mobile Shell 3.5, but I was super tempted to stick with Manila 2.1. I have tried out Manila 2.5 (’sense’) and while it’s quick and cool, the lack of landscape support makes it a bit annoying.
I’ve been told that AE Button will find the PTT button on the Tilt2, so I’m going to give that a shot
@nick I forgot to upload those comparison shots the other day. Here they are:

Keep in mind that I hadn’t played with the camera settings on the Tilt 2, and the Fuze is considerably modified.
I liked it. BUT… its limited and I had some compatibility issues with some software, so I went with 2.1 ROM
